## How Google LSA works in LeadTruffle

Manage your Google Local Services Ads integration from one place: **Lead Sources → Google LSA**.

The Google LSA page includes four tabs:

| Tab | What you use it for |
| --- | --- |
| Setup | Connect Google and manage the advertiser accounts LeadTruffle can access |
| Leads | Review synced Google LSA lead details and match them to existing inquiries |
| Analytics | Review reporting for your connected Google LSA accounts |
| Messaging | Manage email forwarding, AI reply responders, and message history |

There are two parts to the integration, and each works independently:

* **Automated messaging:** Uses your LSA lead-notification emails to respond to message leads, gather customer details, and follow up.
* **Google account linking:** Adds Google lead details and reporting to LeadTruffle.

You can use messaging on its own or connect Google as well for lead insights and reporting.

|| **Linking Google does not activate AI replies.** Automated replies require the email forwarding setup in Messaging. The direct Google connection syncs supplemental data without creating contacts or inquiries or sending replies. Feedback is sent to Google only when a manager or administrator reviews and submits it.

---

## Before you start

You’ll need a LeadTruffle account and an active Google Local Services Ads account.

### For automated messaging

* Enable messaging leads in Google LSA.
* Have access to your Google LSA account.
* Have access to the email inbox receiving your LSA lead notifications. Gmail is preferred, but other providers can work.

Allow about **15 minutes** for the messaging setup.

### For Google account linking

* Have admin access to the Google account that manages your Local Services Ads.
* Know which advertiser accounts you want to connect.

If an agency manager controls multiple advertiser accounts, one Google authorization can cover the accounts that manager can access. You’ll choose which ones to sync during setup.

Allow about **five minutes** to connect Google.

## Set up automated replies to message leads

When a potential customer submits a “Get Quote” inquiry through your Google LSA ad, LeadTruffle’s AI can respond within seconds, gather details such as their address, email, and availability, and qualify the lead.

With messaging configured, you can:

* Automatically respond to new LSA message leads.
* Send follow-ups when a lead goes quiet.
* Review the full conversation history in your LeadTruffle inbox.
* Turn off AI at any time and reply manually.

### Open Messaging and follow the setup guide

1. Log in to [LeadTruffle](https://app.leadtruffle.com).
2. Go to **Lead Sources → Google LSA**.
3. Open the **Messaging** tab. You can also click **Manage Messaging** from the Setup tab.
4. Follow the [in-app automated messaging setup guide](https://app.leadtruffle.com/help/how-to-connect-google-lsa-to-leadtruffle-for-automated-lead-response) to configure your LSA lead-notification emails and AI replies.

The in-app guide includes the detailed email integration instructions and video walkthroughs.

Once configured, use **Messaging** to review your forwarding settings, AI reply responders, and message history.

| **Google account linking is optional for messaging.** Email forwarding handles AI replies and works independently of the Google connection.

|| **This setup is for message leads.** Answering Google LSA phone calls is handled separately through AI voice.

## Connect Google for lead data and analytics

Link your Google account to bring supplemental Google LSA lead information and reporting into LeadTruffle.

If you already use automated messaging, you can add this connection from the same Google LSA page.

### Step 1: Open Setup

1. In the left sidebar, under **Lead Sources**, select **Google LSA**.
2. Open the **Setup** tab.
3. Click **Connect Google**.

You can also open the [Google LSA page](https://app.leadtruffle.com/google-lsa-v2) directly.

### Step 2: Choose the correct Google account

Select the Google account that manages your Local Services Ads.

If you manage accounts through an agency, choose the agency manager login that has access to the advertiser accounts you want to connect.

### Step 3: Approve access to LeadTruffle

Review the Google authorization screen and click **Continue** to approve access.

### Step 4: Fetch your advertiser accounts

After authorization, the Setup tab displays **Google is connected**.

Under **Google Ads accounts**, click **Fetch accounts from Google**. LeadTruffle lists the advertiser accounts the authorized Google account can access.

### Step 5: Select and save your Local Services accounts

1. Select the accounts you want to sync that are marked **Local Services found**.
2. Leave accounts labeled **No Local Services campaign** unchecked.
3. Click **Save selected accounts**.

Your connected accounts appear under **Google Ads accounts**, where you can review their status and last lead sync time.

### Step 6: Sync your leads

1. Open the **Leads** tab.
2. Click **Sync all accounts**.

After syncing, review individual leads in **Leads** and reporting in **Analytics**.

---

## Review and match your synced leads

Each synced lead includes:

* **Google lead ID**
* **Lead type**
* **Job type**
* **Google status**
* **Billing state**

Click **Details** to inspect a lead. Click **Find inquiry** to match it to an existing LeadTruffle conversation.

This gives you Google’s lead information alongside your existing LeadTruffle workflow. Importing this data does not create a new contact, inquiry, or conversation.

To refresh the information, click **Sync all accounts** in the Leads tab. You can also check each account’s **Last lead sync** time in Setup.

Open **Analytics** to review reporting for your connected Google LSA accounts.

---

## Understand lead feedback and booked status

Lead feedback and Google’s **Mark Booked** action serve different purposes. A booking recorded in LeadTruffle is also separate from Google’s booking record.

### Lead feedback

Lead feedback tells Google how satisfied you were with a lead and why. In LeadTruffle, feedback goes to Google only when a manager or administrator reviews and submits it.

For example, selecting **Very satisfied** with the reason **Booked customer** indicates that the lead converted. It does not create a native Google booking record, save appointment details, or change the lead’s Google status to **Booked**.

Google says feedback helps its systems understand your preferences so it can work toward sending leads better suited to your business. See [Google’s explanation of the Lead Feedback Survey](https://support.google.com/localservices/answer/15100654?hl=en).

### Mark Booked in Google

Google’s native **Mark Booked** action records when a call or message lead becomes a booked appointment. Use it to maintain booking records and track which leads converted.

To mark a lead as booked:

1. Open your Google Local Services Ads inbox.
2. Select the lead.
3. Click **Mark Booked**.
4. Indicate whether the job is already completed or scheduled for a future date.
5. Add optional tracking details, such as the customer’s name and job type.
6. Save the booking.

Optional tracking details are visible only to the advertiser and can help you find leads in reports. Google currently documents this feature for advertisers in the United States and Canada; the workflow does not apply to advertisers operating through a partner affiliate. See [Google’s booking and reporting instructions](https://support.google.com/localservices/answer/6226265?hl=en).

### What updates in LeadTruffle

After a lead is marked **Booked** inside Google, sync the account again to display its updated Google status in LeadTruffle.

The direct connection cannot create or update Google’s native booking record. Recording a booking within LeadTruffle or submitting feedback with the reason **Booked customer** does not update that record.

|| **Booked status and billing are separate.** Marking a lead as booked does not change whether the original lead was charged or automatically issue a credit.

### Does marking leads as booked improve ad ranking?

Google does not list **Mark Booked** as a ranking factor. Its published factors include bidding, responsiveness, relevance, and profile quality. Use booked status for accurate conversion tracking without assuming it will improve your ad position. See [Google’s published LSA ranking factors](https://support.google.com/localservices/answer/7527305?hl=en).

## Troubleshooting

### Google is connected, but AI is not replying

Linking Google adds lead data and reporting. Automated replies require the email forwarding setup in **Messaging**.

Open **Google LSA → Messaging**, follow the [in-app automated messaging guide](https://app.leadtruffle.com/help/how-to-connect-google-lsa-to-leadtruffle-for-automated-lead-response), and confirm that messaging leads are enabled in your Google LSA account.

### Messaging works, but Google is not connected

Messaging can work independently through email forwarding.

To add Google lead details and reporting, open **Google LSA → Setup** and connect your Google account.

### No advertiser accounts are returned

The Google account you authorized may not have access to the advertiser account.

Authorize the connection using the Google account with the required access. If an agency manages the account, use the appropriate agency manager login, then fetch the accounts again.

### An account says “No Local Services campaign”

Google reports that the advertiser account has no LSA campaign, so it cannot be synced.

Confirm that your Local Services Ads campaign belongs to the advertiser account you selected.

### Synced leads look stale

Open **Google LSA → Leads** and click **Sync all accounts** again.

Check the account’s **Last lead sync** time in Setup to confirm when the data was refreshed.

### A synced lead has no matching LeadTruffle inquiry

The direct connection does not create contacts or inquiries. Use **Find inquiry** to look for an existing conversation.

If you want new LSA message leads to receive automated replies and appear in your inbox, complete the setup in **Messaging**.

### A booking in LeadTruffle is not marked Booked in Google

Bookings recorded in LeadTruffle do not update Google’s native booking record. Use **Mark Booked** in Google, then sync the account again to refresh the status displayed in LeadTruffle.
