# How to Use Human Takeover in LeadTruffle

## Overview

Human Takeover lets you jump into any conversation in LeadTruffle and personally message a lead — pausing the AI’s responses until you’re ready to turn it back on.

## How It Works

1. **Go to Conversations**

* Navigate to the **Conversations** tab inside your LeadTruffle dashboard.
2. **Toggle Off AI Responses**

* At the top of the chat window, find the switch labeled **“AI Response Active.”**
* Turn this **off** to switch the conversation into **Manual Mode**.
* You can now reply to messages directly — your lead will receive your texts as normal.
3. **Resume AI When Ready**

* When you’re done, toggle **AI Response Active** back **on** to let the AI resume responding automatically.

## Important Notes

* **Growth Plan Required:** Human Takeover requires a **10DLC (10-digit local)** phone number, available only on the **Growth Plan**.
* **Message Window:** For compliance and deliverability, manual texting is only available for up to **90 days** after the last customer interaction.
