How to add LeadTruffle to your Meta Ads account

📝 Quick steps to invite LeadTruffle into Meta Business Suite so we can connect your Facebook and Instagram lead ads through Zapier.

Working with an agency?


If you have an agency managing your Facebook lead ads, they'll likely be the ones handling the steps below since they own (or have admin access to) your Meta Business portfolio. Rather than doing this yourself, the fastest path is to loop your agency in and let them take it from here.


Copy the template below and send it to your agency contact to kick things off:


Hi [Agency],

I wanted to introduce you to the team at LeadTruffle. They are working with us to set up automated follow-ups for our Facebook ad leads, and we need your help to get that integration connected on the ads side.

Essentially, we need to pull the lead data from [Company Name]'s Facebook ad campaigns into LeadTruffle so we can automatically follow up with new leads via text message.

Could you hop on an email thread with us to get this set up? We'll guide you through exactly what's needed — it should be pretty straightforward from your end.

Feel free to reach out with any questions in the meantime.

Once your agency is in the loop, they can follow the steps below. You'll still want to handle the SMS opt-in step yourself (or confirm your agency does it) — that one is critical for enabling text message follow-ups.


If you don't work with an agency, just continue with the steps below yourself.


Open your Meta Business Suite settings


  1. Go to business.facebook.com and sign in to the business portfolio that owns your Facebook Page and ad account.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Users → People.
  3. Direct Link: https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/business_users/?nav_ref=internal_nav



Invite LeadTruffle


  1. Click Invite people in the upper right
  2. Enter the email: support@leadtruffle.com
  3. On the Assign access step, select Full control and toggle on everything under business portfolio access
  4. Click Next




Assign business assets


This is the most important step. Grant LeadTruffle access to all three asset types so we can pull leads from your campaigns.Add all of the following:


  • Facebook Pages — the Page running your lead ads
  • Ad accounts — the ad account running the lead campaigns
  • Instagram accounts — your Instagram account, if lead ads run on Instagram


For each asset, scroll to the Full control section on the right and toggle on every permission (e.g. Manage ad accounts, Manage Page, Manage Instagram account).



Pages, Ad accounts, and Instagram accounts each have their own permission toggles. Partial access is the #1 cause of Zapier connection errors — make sure Full control is on for every asset.


Review and send the invitation


  1. On the Review invitation step, double-check the people, access level, and assets are all correct
  2. Click Send invitation



That's it on the access side. LeadTruffle will accept the invite, and you can move on to the next step.


Add an SMS opt-in to your Facebook form


Important: Without an SMS opt-in on your Facebook form, LeadTruffle can only send email follow-ups — not text messages. SMS will stay disabled until consent is collected.


By default, Facebook Lead Ads forms collect a phone number but do not capture a separate SMS consent response. To enable SMS follow-up, you'll need to add a custom disclaimer with an opt-in to your Meta Instant Form.


How to add it


  1. In Meta Business Suite, open the Instant Form connected to your lead ad
  2. Scroll to the Custom notices section (marked Optional)
  3. Click Add disclaimer
  4. Set a Title (e.g. "Customer Disclaimer Responses")
  5. Paste your SMS opt-in language into the Text field
  6. Save the form




Use this as your starting point — replace the business name with your own:


I agree to receive SMS messages from [Your Business Name] at the number provided regarding project details, estimates, scheduling, follow-ups, and missed-call notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.


Once the disclaimer is live and leads are checking the consent box, SMS will activate automatically inside LeadTruffle.
