Overview
Forwarding your GoTo Connect calls to LeadTruffle makes sure no caller slips through the cracks. If your team can't pick up, the call rolls to LeadTruffle, which instantly follows up by text or AI voice so the lead stays warm.
There are two ways to do this in GoTo Connect:
- Find Me/Follow Me — rings your team first, then forwards to LeadTruffle only when nobody answers. This is the recommended setup for most businesses.
- Star code (
*72) — forwards every call straight to LeadTruffle, skipping your phones entirely. Useful for after-hours or when you want LeadTruffle to catch everything.
What Find Me/Follow Me is and why it matters
Find Me/Follow Me is GoTo Connect's call-routing feature. It lets you send calls to your extension through a series of ring steps — your desk phone, your cell, a teammate's line, and so on — so you stay reachable even when you're away from your desk. Each step can point to another extension or an external number like a mobile phone.
For speed-to-lead, this is exactly what you want: your team gets the first shot at every call, and any call that goes unanswered is automatically handed to LeadTruffle for an immediate follow-up.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- Your LeadTruffle forwarding number (found in your LeadTruffle account — usually a toll-free number).
- Access to the GoTo app (desktop, web, or mobile) signed in to the line you want to forward.
- The phone number(s) or extension(s) that should ring before the call reaches LeadTruffle.
Option 1: Forward calls on no answer (recommended)
This setup rings your team first and only forwards to LeadTruffle when the call isn't answered.
- Open the GoTo app and sign in.
- Click your profile icon and open Settings.
- Go to Find Me/Follow Me.
- On desktop or web, it's under the Voice settings.
- On mobile, it's under Phone & voicemail.
- Add a first ring step that rings your own line (your desk phone, cell, or team extension). This is your team's chance to answer.
- Set a ring timeout for that step — around 20 seconds works well before the call moves on.
- Add a second step and choose an external number as the destination. Enter your LeadTruffle forwarding number here.
- Save your changes.
- Place a test call to confirm the call rings your line first, then rolls to LeadTruffle when unanswered.
Option 2: Forward all calls with a star code
Use this when you want every call sent to LeadTruffle immediately, without ringing your phones first.
- From your GoTo phone or app, dial
*72followed by your LeadTruffle forwarding number. - The system confirms that server-side forwarding is active. All incoming calls to that line now go straight to LeadTruffle.
*72 forwards all calls and bypasses your phones entirely — your line won't ring first. Use it for after-hours coverage or temporary situations, and remember to turn it off when you want your team answering calls again.Turn call forwarding off
- If you used the star code: dial **
*73** to deactivate forwarding. Calls will ring your line normally again. - If you used Find Me/Follow Me: open Find Me/Follow Me in your GoTo settings and remove or edit the ring step that points to LeadTruffle.
