Overview
Quo (formerly OpenPhone) is a business phone and texting system. When you connect it, LeadTruffle pulls activity from the Quo lines you choose into your inbox. Your team can then see every conversation in one place.
What syncs | Details |
|---|---|
Call history | Incoming and outgoing calls, with original dates, direction, business number, line name, and status/duration when available |
Text history | Incoming and outgoing messages, plus media attachments when available |
Recordings and transcripts | Call recordings, transcripts, summaries, and voicemails, when Quo provides them |
New activity | New calls and texts sync automatically after setup, with a daily catch-up check for anything missed |
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- A LeadTruffle Administrator or Manager login
- A Quo workspace owner or admin, who needs to create the API key and webhook
- A list of the business lines you want to share with your team. Don't include personal or private lines unless their owners agree.
- A decision on whether to import past history or only sync from now on
Step 1: Create a Quo API key
- In Quo, go to Workspace Settings → API.
- Generate a new key and give it a name like leadtruffle. Quo key names can't contain spaces.
- Copy the key.
Step 2: Connect Quo in LeadTruffle
- In LeadTruffle, go to Integrations and find Quo.
- Click Connect.

- Paste your key into the Quo API key field and click Connect Quo.
- Confirm that your workspace name and phone lines appear.
LeadTruffle stores your key encrypted and shows it as a masked Saved field.
Step 3: Choose your lines and import history
After you connect, LeadTruffle opens the History sync screen.
- Under Business lines to share with your team, check the lines you want synced.
- Under Import history, choose one of the following:
- From now (no past history)
- Last 30 days (default)
- Last 90 days
- Click Save lines and sync.

While history imports
- Keep the page open. Closing the browser or leaving the page stops the import.
- Switching between tabs inside the Quo panel is fine.
- To step away, click Pause import and let the current batch finish. When you come back, click Resume import to pick up where it left off.
- The progress counter shows calls and messages processed. It doesn't show unique contacts or new leads, and there's no percentage because Quo doesn't report a total.
- Recordings and transcripts may show up a little after the main import finishes.
Changing the history range
Resume import always continues the range you originally chose. To import a different range, let the current import finish first, then pick a new range and click Save lines and sync again. Records that were already imported are updated, not duplicated.
Step 4: Turn on live updates
The API key and history import don't sync new activity on their own. To get new calls and texts as they happen, set up a webhook in Quo.
- In LeadTruffle's Quo panel, open the Live updates tab and copy the Webhook URL.
- Open Quo's Webhooks settings and click Create webhook in the top-right corner.
- In the Create a webhook form, paste the LeadTruffle webhook URL into URL. Enter a recognizable Label, such as LeadTruffle.
- Select the same phone lines you chose in LeadTruffle.
- Under Event types, expand Calls & messages and Contacts to select the supported events listed below, where available.
- Click Create webhook at the bottom of the form.
- In the webhook's details, click ⋯ → Reveal signing secret and copy it.
- Back in LeadTruffle, paste it into the Signing secret field and click Save signing secret.
In Quo: create the webhook

In LeadTruffle: save the signing secret

Supported events
Select these events when they're available. Don't select all events. Other event types, like ringing or tasks, aren't supported.
Activity | Events to select |
|---|---|
Messages | message.received, message.delivered, message.failed, message.undelivered |
Calls | call.completed, call.missed, call.answered, call.forwarded |
Call details | call.recording.completed, call.transcript.completed, call.summary.completed, call.voicemail.completed |
Contact changes | contact.updated, contact.deleted |
Step 5: Test your setup
Use a separate phone to send test activity to one of your selected Quo lines.
- Text your Quo number. Confirm the message appears in LeadTruffle under the right contact.

- Reply from Quo. Confirm your outgoing reply also shows up in LeadTruffle.

- Make a test call. Confirm the call record appears. If Quo created a recording, transcript, or voicemail, check that it shows up as well.

- Check Quo → Logs on the LeadTruffle integrations page for any errors.

If all of these work, you're set up.
How Quo activity appears in LeadTruffle
Contacts
- LeadTruffle matches calls and texts to existing contacts by phone or email. If there's no match, it creates a new contact.
- Existing contact names and details aren't overwritten. Quo details only fill in empty fields.
- Each call usually creates its own inquiry. Texts are grouped by their Quo conversation.
- Group texts, anonymous callers, or unclear matches may not be linked to a contact.
Dates and unread messages
- Imported activity keeps its original date, so older history may appear further back in your timeline.
- Imported history won't mark conversations unread, reopen archived conversations, or trigger AI replies, missed-call texts, or notifications.
- New incoming texts after setup can show as unread.
Replying from Quo pauses automation
If someone on your team replies to a contact by text from Quo, LeadTruffle can pause its automation for that contact, the same way human takeover works. A call alone won't trigger this.
Sender labels
Outgoing messages may show Sent by [name], Quo teammate, Quo automation, or Sender not provided. A missing name doesn't mean the message failed to sync.
Pause, change, or disconnect
- Stop syncing one line: Uncheck it and click Save lines and sync. Its history stays in LeadTruffle.
- Pause all syncing: Uncheck every line and click Save lines and sync.
- Disconnect: Click Disconnect Quo. Syncing stops and your imported history stays. This doesn't delete the webhook in Quo or revoke your API key, so remove those in Quo if you no longer need them.
- Replace your API key: Disconnect, then reconnect using a new key from the same Quo workspace. Re-select your lines and save.
- Replace your signing secret: Click Replace signing secret, paste the new one, and save. Your old secret keeps working until the new one is saved. Test your setup again afterward.
Optional: Forward Quo calls to AI Voice
Connecting Quo does not turn on AI Voice or change your call routing. If you want LeadTruffle's AI to answer missed or after-hours calls, set up call forwarding separately.
- Make sure AI Voice is set up in LeadTruffle, and copy your AI Voice number from AI Voice setup.
- In Quo, open the call flow for your business number.
- Choose your setup:
- Missed calls: Add a Forward call step after Ring users.
- After hours: Use the Business hours branch and forward the after-hours path.
- Enter your LeadTruffle AI Voice number and publish the changes.
- Call your Quo number from another phone and test the path you set up. Confirm AI Voice answers and the conversation appears in LeadTruffle.
Troubleshooting
Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
Can't manage the integration | Make sure you're logged in as an Administrator or Manager. The Quo setup steps need a Quo owner or admin. |
API key rejected | Confirm the key belongs to the right workspace and hasn't been revoked. |
"Workspace already linked" | This Quo workspace is connected to another LeadTruffle company. Disconnect it there first. |
"Use an API key from the same Quo workspace" | The key is from a different workspace than the one originally connected. Use a key from the original workspace, or contact support. |
Connected, but nothing imports | Confirm you clicked Save lines and sync, your history range has activity, and the import is running. Also check your inbox filters. |
History imported, but new activity is missing | Check the webhook URL, the selected lines and events, and the signing secret. Then check delivery history in Quo. |
Signature verification errors | Make sure the signing secret matches the exact Quo webhook that uses your LeadTruffle URL. |
Import stopped or the page errored | Click Resume import. Your progress is saved. Avoid starting new imports repeatedly. |
"Please wait" message | Wait until the time shown, then click Resume import. |
Import finished with skipped records | Most records likely imported fine. Contact support with the skipped count. |
Missing recording, transcript, or attachment | Check Hide synced calls and the original date. Then confirm the content exists in Quo. If it's in Quo but not LeadTruffle, contact support. |
Logs look empty | Logs only show setup steps and important errors, not every synced record. Check your inbox instead. |
AI isn't answering or texting back | That's expected. Quo sync doesn't turn on AI actions. See Optional: Forward Quo calls to AI Voice. |
