Overview

Whether leads come in from your website chat, missed calls, or voice agent, LeadTruffle qualifies them instantly — and with our native Housecall Pro integration, those leads sync automatically to your CRM with no Zapier or manual entry required.

This guide walks you through connecting LeadTruffle directly to Housecall Pro using the Housecall Pro API (available on their MAX plan). Setup takes less than 5 minutes.

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A Housecall Pro MAX plan (required for API access)

  2. Navigate to API Key Management.
  3. Generate your API key.
  4. Copy the key for the next step.

Step 2: Connect Housecall Pro to LeadTruffle

  1. Log into your LeadTruffle dashboard.
  2. Go to External CRMs → Housecall Pro Integration.

Keep temporary marketplace contact info out of Housecall Pro

Leads from marketplaces like Thumbtack, Yelp, and Google Local Services Ads often arrive with temporary contact info — a proxy phone number or a relay email address (for example, a Yelp forwarding email or a @awexpress.google.com Google LSA address). If that temporary info syncs to Housecall Pro, you end up with a customer record you can't actually call or email.

The Don't sync masked data from third-party lead sources setting fixes this. When it's on, LeadTruffle strips known temporary phone numbers and relay email addresses before creating the Housecall Pro customer.

This setting only affects the info sent to Housecall Pro. It does not delete the original marketplace data in LeadTruffle, and it does not stop you from replying to the lead through Yelp, Thumbtack, or Google LSA.

How to turn it on

  1. Open Integrations.
  2. Find your Housecall Pro integration and open its Settings modal.
  3. Check Don't sync masked data from third-party lead sources. It sits with the other data-sync settings, below your connection details.
  4. Save if the modal has a Save button. Some connected CRMs save the checkbox immediately and show a success toast.
  5. Close and reopen the settings to confirm the box stayed checked.

Turning this on for Housecall Pro does not turn it on for any other CRM. If you also send leads to Jobber, ServiceTitan, or another platform, enable the setting on each one separately.

What happens to a lead when the setting is on

  • LeadTruffle finds the best real phone and email available.
  • Known temporary or relay values are removed from the Housecall Pro contact data and notes.
  • If a real phone or email remains, the sync proceeds without the masked value.
  • If removing the temporary value leaves no usable contact method, LeadTruffle holds the sync instead of sending unusable data. This shows in your logs as a skipped action — not a failure.

Angi note: Angi changed its contact-data policy in January, so LeadTruffle now treats Angi phone and email values as real, even though an older Angi field is still named maskedNumber.

Existing Housecall Pro integrations are not switched on automatically — the setting behaves as off until you enable it. Brand-new integrations default it to on. Reconnecting does not change your existing choice.

Sync conversion data nightly

Most of this integration pushes data from LeadTruffle into Housecall Pro. The Sync conversion data nightly setting does the reverse — it pulls invoice data back from Housecall Pro so LeadTruffle can track the revenue each lead generated.

When this setting is on, LeadTruffle checks Housecall Pro each night and:

  • Matches Housecall Pro invoices to the corresponding leads in LeadTruffle.
  • Automatically marks each matched lead as Won.
  • Records the invoice revenue against that lead.

This closes the loop on your pipeline — once a job is invoiced in Housecall Pro, you don't have to go back into LeadTruffle and manually update the lead's status.

A new revenue dashboard is coming soon that uses this synced invoice data to show how much revenue your leads are generating.

How to turn it on

  1. Open Integrations.
  2. Find your Housecall Pro integration and open its Settings modal.
  3. Check Sync conversion data nightly. It sits with the other data-sync settings.
  4. Save if the modal has a Save button. Some connected CRMs save the checkbox immediately and show a success toast.

Because this sync runs once per night, a lead being marked Won and its revenue appearing in LeadTruffle can take up to a day after the job is invoiced in Housecall Pro.

Integration benefits

  • No more manual data entry – Everything flows from LeadTruffle into Housecall Pro automatically.
  • Faster response times – Schedule jobs instantly within Housecall Pro.
  • Full context for technicians – Transcripts and customer data available in one place.
  • Better attribution tracking – Automatically sync UTM parameters and source data.
  • Automatic revenue tracking – Sync invoices back from Housecall Pro to mark matched leads as Won and record their revenue.

Checking what synced to Housecall Pro

If a lead didn't appear in Housecall Pro the way you expected, you can see exactly what happened in your logs.

  1. Open Logs in your LeadTruffle dashboard, or click View logs on the Housecall Pro integration card.
  2. Filter to Housecall Pro and the approximate time.
  3. Search the loaded page by contact name, email, phone, or lead inquiry ID.
  4. Check the status of the record:
  • Success — the lead synced and Housecall Pro returned the customer/job.
  • Skipped — LeadTruffle intentionally held the sync (for example, removing masked contact info left no usable phone or email). This is a safety decision, not an error.
  • Failure — a connection, credential, or provider problem occurred.
  1. Open Details to see the related contact, lead inquiry, source, and any error.

A skipped lead usually just means LeadTruffle is waiting on a real phone or email. Once that info is collected, the lead can become eligible to sync.
